Why is Local SEO so Important
The Face of Advertising has Changed (because consumer habits have)
Phonebooks, tv, radio and the rest of the traditional advertising media have become much less effective since the Internet has taken over. Now, people of all ages have grown accustomed to finding their product and/or service online instead of cracking out the old Yellow Pages.
In fact, recent studies have found that a whopping 98% of the US online population uses the internet to find what they are intending to buy. And, more importantly, the majority of these people (53+%) are going offline via their telephones or actually walking into your store in order to make their purchase.
Additionally, as for the 35 year and under portion of the population… well, they don’t even own a phone book.
So, what does this mean to Mr. and Mrs. Business Owner?
It means that, once again, it’s time to catch up with technology.
It wasn’t too long ago that we were told that we needed a fax machine (and many of us laughed). That is, until we got one. Then we couldn’t figure out how we got along without it.
Same held true with computers, cell phones, and e-mail. Of course, there are always the stand-outs; the exceptions to the rule. But, it will only be a matter of time before they see the writing on the wall.
But, you have found this site and this article so now it’s time to start making some decisions about your company’s future. Are you going to be one of the first ones to take advantage of this dynamic change in marketing your product and/or service? Or, are you going to wait until all of your customers and prospects find your competitors first?
